The Van Loon house is, strictly speaking, not a stately home. It is one of the many merchant mansions on the famous canals of Amsterdam that survived the centuries. In its present state, the house dates from the 17th and 18th century. Both the interior and the gardens are fully intact. The house is a museum now.
